Privacy policy
Effective October 19, 2026. Applies to the game Fogmark on every platform and to this website.
The short version
Fogmark does not collect, store or share any personal information. The game never connects to the internet. Your progress stays on your own device.
What the game keeps, and where
- Your saves and settings (islands, finds, your home cove, the name you give your explorer) are stored only on your device. In the browser version they're kept in your browser's own storage for this site.
- Crash reports: if the game closes unexpectedly, it writes a short report on your device about what was happening in the game. It is never sent anywhere. You can view it in Settings and copy it yourself if you choose to send it to us.
- Backups and share images are files you choose to save. Seed, Atlas and Times codes describe an island and your times on it; they contain no personal information, and you decide who to give them to.
The game has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
Stores and platforms
You get Fogmark through a store or platform (such as Steam, the App Store, Google Play or itch.io). Each one handles its own data about you, such as your account and purchases, under its own privacy policy. If a future version uses a platform feature, such as Steam achievements, cloud saves or leaderboards, that data is handled by the platform under its policy, and this page will be updated to say so.
This website
This site uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may log basic technical information (such as IP addresses) to run and protect its service, under GitHub's privacy statement. Links to social networks take you to those services, which have their own policies.
Children
Fogmark is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
